    Default Burn baby burn....

Last week or whenever it was, the datacenter had a fire and before it was contained, there was hardware damage. Of course without fail I was in the process of pulling a monthly backup and deleted the previous months. I'm sure you can figure the rest out.

When my scripts run this, they delete the previous months on 2 servers minus a remote server another client runs. The remote client was away for 2 weeks and was not reachable. That's when I made the call to keep it offline until I could do the restore.

I could have restored us with an OLDER backup which would not have allowed me to import the newer posts (Including CBW's....)

To me that was not an option so I waited until he returned, retrieved the May 29th 2010 backup and restored that. To me not losing her posts was more important then being offline for the amount of time it took... I'm sure the rest of you would all agree....

I also had to purchase a new server as well.........so it set me back some $ as well.

I've also upgraded us to the newest stable version.

I have set an auto cronjob to backup every 2 weeks now instead of 30 days.

But this time it copies the new file and leaves the old files instead of overwriting them.

FYI.... I have to check my email. Our DNS hosting is hosted on a secure server and they just emailed me saying instead of doing 5 domains per account, it's dropping to 2. So I have to see how many accounts are on the RJ account. Worse case....We might have a drop in service until the dns updates... Which is typically 1-8 hours... Usually it's instant......

The server will be up, it just won't be routable. I'm looking into resolving this today.
